A Hard Time in My Life

On Friday, February 25, 2011, the students and teachers at Casey Community School held a memorial service to commemorate the one year anniversary of the tragic plane crash that took the lives of Mr. Mike, Ms. Jill, Makayla, Bryce, and Sir Barry Bowen. Dubin, a Standard V student who was particularly close to Mr. Mike and Ms. Jill, wrote this poem for the service. A Hard Time in My Life

This day has come and I feel that without your guidance and encouragement I won’t be able to continue because I feel lonely inside. You were there for me when I needed help. I know that wherever you are you’re very proud of all the hard work I am doing. I hope that from where you are you listen to all of our prayers we tell you. Right now it is a very difficult time for us. I hope we meet again someday. Time has passed since you are not with us, but I feel like it was yesterday.
